The Punic Walls Interpretation Center Cartagena Spain supposes the recovery of the remains of the ancient Carthaginian wall (III century B.C.) situated at the entrance of the city, and is one of the scarce punic findings located in the Iberian peninsula. The remains discovered are 30 metres long and some parts are conserved courses of blocks about 3 metres high.
The ruins of the Punic Walls Interpretation Center Cartagena Spain that can be seen today belong to the lienzo of the section that extended to the entrance of the isthmus, between the hills of San José and Monte Sacro. During the archaeological excavations were found indications of a fire, possibly during the battle or the looting that followed.
Together with the Punic Walls Interpretation Center Cartagena Spain one can visit the remains of a funeral crypt belonging to the hermitage of Saint Joseph, built during the XVI and XVII centuries.
